Shane Holland Design Workshops Launched New Range

Published on : Saturday, April 12, 2014

SHDW-logoShane Holland Design Workshops launched their new ‘Wilde Cage’ lights and the ‘Ghost of Ash’ range at May Design Series at ExCeL London. This award winning Irish design studio brings a decidedly literary and retro flavour of monochrome tones to the lightings setup for its launch.

Their ‘Ghost of Ash’ is a range of lighting using ash branches from the forests of Ireland to display the natural beauty in this limited edition which brings to attention the threat of ‘Ash Dieback’ to this species. Holland believes these branches should be used before we potentially lose them. This range has received great praise in Europe so far and is produced as a collectible edition of table, medium and standard lamps along with floor and ceiling pendants.

The ‘Wilde Cage’ lights have been developed for the ‘Oscar Wilde Cultural Centre’ in Dublin and this simple wireframe lamp with filament bulbs harks back to the turn of the 19th and 20th century where early light bulbs found their look through various filament designs. This range comes in brass, copper and stainless steel options with red braided cord. The Dublin installation incorporates a rise and fall system for the cafĂ© of this beautifully restored Georgian building adjacent to the National Gallery.
