The Scarlett sofa by Jean-Marie Massaud and the Assaya armchair by Satyendra Pakhalé received the prestigious Red Dot Design Award 2016. Well-known for their Italian made furniture, the Poltrona Frau brand has once again reinforced its high design quality after receiving these two awards.
Scarlett is both a sofa and a chaise longue. The round seat is encircled by a ring of brushed and burnished steel that supports a system of saddle leather straps. This construction serves as arm and backrest simultaneously. Scarlett’s frame is made of solid beech wood. The sofa is equipped with eight castors which allow it to rotate through 360 degrees.
The back of the Assaya armchair is made of hard tanned leather, embellished with elegant contrast stitching. The rest of the armchair is covered in soft leather. The upholstered frame is supported by an aluminium-coloured, painted steel platform that serves as base. Equipped with a special mechanism, this base enables the chair to rotate through 360 degrees.
