PolitecnicoSince the Honorary Degree in Architecture is conferred by the Politecnico di Milano upon the architect Álvaro Siza Vieira, an exhibition was inaugurated with projects by the Portuguese master. The exhibition was held from October 16 to November 8, 2013.

In addition to five projects illustrated through sketches and maquettes, the itinerary includes photographs specially made for the exhibition by Marco Introini, and a tribute to the photographer Gabriele Basilico, with some of his photographs placed in juxtaposition with the drawings of Álvaro Siza.

Gabriele Basilica has been working with Unifor since the early 1980s, collaborating regularly on important exhibitions and a number of publications.

Their joint encounter with Álvaro Siza took place more recently, toward the end of the 1990s, on occasion of the large anthological review devoted to Siza and hosted in the Palladian Basilica in Vicenza. It led to the realization of “un tavolo e una sedia”, a project for a table and a chair, designed and built expressly for that exhibition and used again at this latest event.
