January Furniture Show delivers positive response

jfsThe latest edition of January Furniture Show 2018, which took place from January 21 to 24 at the NEC in Birmingham, saw visitor numbers in line with the 2017 event, at around 20,000, despite snow preventing some attending on the first day, reports show organiser Clarion Events.

The show’s hosted buyers scheme saw an increase of just over 20% taking part, and many exhibitors – including Gallery Direct, Baker Furniture, Weimann, Libra, MLily and Paulus & Brown – reported record days.

New exhibitors including Furninova, Mason and Pearl, Siren and Jones & Co, also expressed their enthusiasm for the event, reporting great satisfaction with the number and quality of buyers and sales.

Event director, Cleere Scamell, commented, “In the end it doesn’t matter what we think, it’s about the exhibitors and the visitors, but on all four days wherever I was in the five halls I heard a buzz, and that means it was good. We are a small team with a determination to deliver the best event possible, hearing that buzz everywhere told me we had succeeded.”

The show was the first major UK event to use Poken, a smart lead-generation and information-swapping tool.
