The 2013 Wages and Conditions Survey was conducted by the BFM in November last year and was published just ahead of the Christmas break.
It looks at wage rates in 22 different occupations in production and associated areas. Across all the occupations the average wage was just over £9.00 an hour although there are obvious wage differences between jobs depending on skill levels and region of the country.
The Survey also covers certain other conditions such as contractual weekly hours of work and holiday entitlement. Companies too were asked whether they had budgeted for a wage increase in 2014 and if so what percentage that equalled on existing rates.
