Bethan Gray has been awarded with Best British Designer 2013 in Elle Decoration’s annual design awards, after several weeks of voting by the public. The announcement was made in the December 2013 issue of Elle Decoration.
“I’m really honoured to have been awarded Best British Designer 2013. Thanks to the team, it’s been a great year full of exciting collaborations and events including the project with Lapicida and my own solo exhibition at Great Western Studios. We are already working on new and intriguing collections for 2014 with opportunities to work with stone, metallics and leather and also launching several new overseas collaborations,” says Bethan Gray, Bethan Gray Design.
Recent successes have included Bethan’s inclusion in Wallpaper’s* famous Handmade lineup; the introduction of new colourways for her popular Brogue product and new version All leather and Brass Brogue; her Inside Design exhibition at Great Western Studios in May focusing on her use of natural materials; the launch of her marble dining tables for stone specialist Lapicida, as well as the recently launched collection for renowned US home retailer Crate & Barrel.
Her first tableware collection, Alice, born out of her designs for the Wallpaper* Handmade project will be launched this November.
