The Bed Show to organise ‘be in the know’ segment at September

the bed showbThis year’s Bed Show is shaping up to be another stellar outing as visitors get set to ‘be in the know’ with the launch of the new Knowledge Hub and a topical presentation programme. Returning to the Telford International Centre from September 18 to 19, more than 1,500 people are expected to visit the show – the only bed-specific exhibition in the UK – and visitors will have plenty to look forward to.

The new Knowledge Hub plays host to a timetable of industry presentations, each delivering dedicated insight and trend information to equip visitors with the knowledge, tools and inspiration to understand the market sector and to make smart buying decisions.

The sessions include expert talks from organisations such as the Furniture Ombudsman, ACID (Anti-copying in Design), Euromonitor, the Furniture Makers’ Company and the NBF team. Each session runs a number of times across the two days and the presentation timetable can be found, in advance, online here as well as featuring on the You Are Here boards at the show.

“We want retailers, buyers, specifiers and even the bed manufacturers to stop by the Knowledge Hub, grab a coffee and use the break to listen to one of our thought-provoking presentations from senior leaders. Topics include ‘The New Consumer’, ‘Raising Industry Standards’ and ‘Beds and Consumer Law’ so there’s definitely something for everyone,” said Jessica Alexander, executive director of the NBF.

“The presentations are short (only 10 to 15 minutes long) and silent – you watch and listen through wireless headphones. Plus they are completely free and there’s no need to book in advance. Simply turn up on the day and take a pew!”

Bed-Show-2018Also new to the show is the Services Hub. This year the Bed Show has invited a small number of guest exhibitors selling services to retailers and manufacturers such as after sales support, logistics, software and IT – to help those involved in the bed industry to do business better. And visitors who want to enjoy some quiet time away from the hustle and bustle of the show can visit the two Business Hubs. Catch up here on emails, recharge laptops and phones or get together with industry colleagues.

In addition to the new feature areas, there will be more than 70 brands exhibiting their latest products and new collections. Joining long term supporters of the show, such as Airsprung, Hypnos, Kaymed and Sweet Dreams, are new exhibitors and NBF members returning to exhibit at the show after a break.
