BCFAJeremy Stein, Managing Director of the British Contract Furnishing Association (BCFA) released the following statement regarding the Brexit development:

“It will likely take some time before there is clarity on the future export trading environment for the UK following the Brexit referendum. As a lead member in the British Furniture Confederation and as a UK Trade & Investment accredited Trade Challenge Partner, the BCFA will work closely with our partners to ensure that the interests of our sector are acknowledged and taken into account in any future trade negotiations. Over the coming months we will work with both UKTI and the Institute of Export to provide you with clear information on the possible impact on your existing and future exports to help you plan for the future and to minimize risks.

In the short term, one of the immediate issues is likely to be currency fluctuations and we would recommend that you have an initial conversation with Global Reach, our new FX Benefit Partner. As one of their benefits, Global Reach is offering a free currency audit service to BCFA members, it is an excellent way for you to find out exactly how much your current FX provider is charging you and potentially make some significant savings. To arrange a free FX audit please contact Nick Coombs on +44 0 203 805 1639 or ncoombs@globalreach-partners.com.

We will continue to update you as events issues and opportunities pertinent to our industry unfold.”
