The contemporary aluminium radiator was picked as one of the winning designs by a judging panel, made up of 40 design professionals from all over the world.
Originator and CEO of Red Dot Professor Dr Peter Zec commented: “The winners can be proud of their achievements – with their entries, they stood out from the rest and were able to pass the test in front of the critical eyes of the experts. This success will be perceptible during the Red Dot Gala, when the laureates will receive the recognition of the international audience.”
The award will be presented at the Red Dot Gala and subsequent Designers’ Night in Essen, Germany, which opens on 7 July for four weeks. During the party, the winners’ exhibition will be opened with the radiator on display to a wide audience before taking its place in the museum’s permanent exhibition.
Organisers said it had received the highest-ever number of applicants for the 2014 awards, with 4,815 entries from 53 countries.
