“A photograph I took of Bankside Power Station before it was converted into one of the capital’s most-visited galleries, provided the template for Tate,” said Astro design director James Bassant. “I was taken by the uniquely British, monumental qualities of Sir Giles Gilbert Scott’s brickwork design running up the chimney stack, and these are echoed in our new Tate luminaire.”
Tate joins a growing range of Astro products which combine a semi-circular shade with decorative metal detail. It is available in bronze, polished chrome and matt brass and can be specified with LED.
