The 55th edition of the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, being held at the Milan Fairgrounds, Rho opens its gates from today. The leading platform for innovation and technology, the fair will run from April 12 to 17, 2016.
207,000 square meters of net exhibition space has been sold out yet again. 2,310 exhibitors are registered for this year; with 30% of them being foreign companies, and 650 of them are SaloneSatellite designers.
The fair will feature the Salone Internazionale del Mobile along with the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition, with more than 1,300 exhibitors ranged over more than 150,000 square metres, split into two categories, Classic and Design.
The biennial EuroCucina exhibition and its collateral event FTK (Technology For the Kitchen) are also back this year – in Pavilions 9-11 and 13-15 – along with the International Bathroom Exhibition in Pavilions 22-24, responding to the rising demand for quality in both sectors.
The 19th edition of SaloneSatellite will be held in Pavilions 13-15. Being curated by Marva Griffin, “New materials, new design” is the theme for this year, spurring its participants to explore the relationship between science, materials and design. A selection Board composed by internationally known design and communication players will shortlist 700 participants, including many international design schools.
A part of the Milan Design Week, the Salone del Mobile is a must-see event for all the visitors who are interested in design and innovations. The international fair is known to set new trends for the whole of furniture and interiors industry.
