British kitchen furniture manufacturer and retailer Howden has expressed its desire to open 30 new stores in Great Britain in the year 2015. In the medium term, the number of store in the British market is to increase from the current 589 to at least 700. The company’s activities in continental Europe are also to be expanded, particularly in France, where seven new stores are to be opened in the north and one further outlet is planned for the south. The company also plans to enter the Dutch market where it initially intends to open one depot. In the financial year 2014 Howdens already made investments in Great Britain as well as continental Europe and opened a total of 33 new depots. 30 of these were in Great Britain, two in Belgium and one in France.
