frederick-parker-collectionA reception will be held on March 4, 2014 at the London Metropolitan University to introduce members of the Company to the Frederick Parker Collection, which comprises some 190 chairs spanning 400 years.

Some of the Custodians, including Freeman John Cross the Curator of the Collection, will say a few words by way of explanation. It will be an interesting evening and a chance to meet other members, Friends and Supporters of the Collection.
There will be a charge of £15 per person to cover the cost of refreshments, but admission will be free to all who join the Collection’s existing ‘Friends’ fundraising scheme which has been in place since 2010.  Under the scheme a standing order for £50 is payable on April 1 each year.  For every 25 people who join the scheme there will be a raffle for one case of Veuve Cliquot Champagne at the Annual Dinner and Lecture of the Frederick Parker Foundation in October.  There currently have 51 members and therefore raffle two cases. The proceeds of the scheme are used exclusively for the purchase of pieces to enhance the collection and are specifically not used for administration.
