Bathstore has revealed it is opening its first international franchise in Doha, Qatar, which CEO Gary Favell said “marks the next step” in the retailer’s growth plans. The company said it is hoped the store, which is due to open in the Spring 2015, will be the ‘first of many’ franchises in the Gulf Cooperation Council – GCC – region.
Bathstore has kicked off its overseas expansion with a deal to open a franchise store in the Middle East in spring 2015. The Doha franchise will offer Bathstore’s lifetime guarantee and will hold stock centrally within Qatar.
“This agreement marks the next step in Bathstore’s ambitious plans for growth remarks Gary Favell, Bathstore Chief executive.
Favell added: “Qatar has one of the fastest developing economies in the world and the greater GCC region presents a fantastic opportunity for us to grow the Bathstore brand together and support Qatari customers to make their dream bathrooms a reality.”
An agreement signed with Qatari businessman Yousif Al Khater will see the franchise, located in Barwa Commercial Avenue, offer a range of Bathstore products, including bathroom suites, brassware, splash panels, furniture and ceramic sanitaryware.The company said stock will be held centrally in Qatar to provide ‘unrivalled product availability’.
“We wanted to ensure that customers will still receive the same high-quality service we deliver here in the UK,” Favell added. “With Mr. Al Khater, I am confident we can achieve this.”
