The annual Australian Furniture Industry Awards (AFIA), formerly known as ‘AFOTYA’ and it is set to be the highlight of the Furniture and Furnishing Industry this year. The awards are the biggest celebration of innovation, design and manufacturing for the Australian furnishing industry. These National Awards represent a tremendous opportunity for all sectors of the Furniture and Furnishing Industry to engage in a collaborative way to put the Australian Furniture Industry on the world map. Nominations are open to members and non-members of the Awards organiser, the Australian Furniture Association (AFA), in all states and territories of Australia.
For the first time ever, award nominated pieces will be on display at the inaugural Australian International Furniture Exhibition at the Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne which is scheduled on July 11-13, 2014, with the National Awards announced at the Gala Dinner on Saturday 12 July under the dome of this magnificent World Heritage listed building. The awards will be supported by a television and digital media campaign shining the spotlight on the pinnacle of Australian Furniture – for every room in the world.
