Kbsa CEO Ernst-Uwe Hanneck has been announced as the winner of the Services to the Industry Award at this year’s Designer Awards.

The Services to the Industry honour is reserved for a non-designer whose work in the sector extends way beyond the norm in terms of the wider impact that their work has had on the industry. Presenting the award, Grahame Morrison, Founding Editor of Designer magazine, said: “He is a true pioneer in the sense that he had no blueprint to follow but brought ethics and business acumen to a market that was more like the wild west when he started, than the calm and professional kitchen specialist sector we know today.”

Designer’s current Editor, Martin Allen-Smith, added: “Uwe Hanneck’s impact as CEO of the BSH Group as well as his roles with AMDEA and, more recently, the Kbsa, have all seen him make a huge, massively important and lasting difference for kitchen specialists. He is widely acknowledged as a towering figure within the industry, and there can be no more deserving recipient of this award than Mr Hanneck.”

Hundreds of local independent kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and home office retailers Nationwide are Kbsa members, dedicated to upholding the Association’s high standards of design, supply, installation and customer service throughout the KBB industry.
