sofalandInvesting in a leather sofa or leather couch is a substantial investment, and as such, it does not simply look aesthetically good, but also offer you a great experience of comfort, durability and long-lasting features. BBC’s programme “Fake Britain” highlights that 8 out of 10 leather sofa stores do not meet the UK regulations. Sofaland is taking a lead in ensuring all leather sofas are regularly checked and are compliment to promote safety and rebuild consumers faith in furniture safety.

The UK has some of the toughest fire regulations for furniture in the world and consumers expect that furniture they buy will be safe. But Fake Britain discovered that some furniture dramatically fails crucial fire safety checks and some items are even being sold with fake fire safety labels.

Michael Savva, MD of Sofaland has commented on the findings from the documentary. “I am shocked that many of the leading brand leather sofa retailers such as DFS, Harveys and Tesco have been retailing furniture which does not meet the UK regulations. At Sofaland we take necessary precautions such as rigorous and frequent testing to ensure all of our leather settees fully meet and even surpass the UK regulations. I hope this BBC documentary will encourage more retailers of leather furniture to keep on top of this as customer’s safety should be the number 1 priority”.
With so many cheap leather sofas readily available to purchase from eBay and other retail outlets it is difficult for a customer to buy their leather furniture with confidence. Not only should a leather sofa look good and be comfortable it should also be safe to use and enjoy in the customers home.

Sofaland was formed in 2008 by Michael Savva and through hard work, good value leather sofas and great customer service the company has grown from a small leather sofa store to a nation furniture store turning over in excess of 3 million pounds over the past 12 months.

For many years Sofaland has been manufacturing with quality leather. In order to meet the demand of both the residential and the project markets, the company is now offering different models in a range of leather sofa. This will give the Sofaland models an added new look and feel, while the quality and comfort will be comparable to the leather collections. We are keen towards satisfying their customers who like the design of a particular Sofaland model but prefer fabric over leather. We have achieved great name and fame in the field of high-quality fabrics, and have incorporated great qualities into its collection.
