Smeg Shines at Good Design Awards 2014

Smeg2014 has been a great year for Smeg. In 2014, five Smeg products received recognition: the concept hob with bird motif designed by architect Guido Canali and the 45 cm wine cooler, both from the Dolce Stil Novo line, the stand mixer and toaster from the Small Appliances collection created with the architects Matteo Bazzicalupo and Raffaella Mangiarotti of Italian design studio, deepdesign, and the 90 cm Victoria range cooker, which perfectly interprets the timeless style and elegance of Smeg.

This year the select jury of the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design – one of the most influential cultural institutions of the United States – and the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies awarded Smeg a number of Good Design Awards. International recognition for cutting-edge products in industrial design, the Good Design Award has, since 1950, been one of the most prestigious awards in the field of design, innovation and aesthetics.

“This new clutch of awards – says Vittorio Bertazzoni, CEO of Smeg – is very welcome and appreciated. 2014 was one of the most prolific years in the company’s history and the Good Design Awards 2014 represent for us proof of the high esteem in which the international design community holds Smeg as a symbol of Italian style and excellence.”
