SMEGAt the Chicago Athenaeum, the winners of the prizes for the best design products conceived and created for the consumer were announced, on the occasion of the Good Design Awards 2016.
Selected by an international jury of architects, designers and creative directors, Smeg and its products beat off competition from more than five hundred companies to win the coveted prize for excellence in design and innovation.

Specifically, the Smeg appliances that earned the company this prestigious award were the 45cm wine collers, the sommelier drawer, the 60cm oven, the laminar flame hob with artistic grids and the mixed 90cm hob, all from the new Dolce Stil Novo range, presented for the first time at the 2016 Salone del Mobile. These ground-breaking products were commended for their refined aesthetic and extraordinary technological innovation in the field of home appliances.

These products were accompanied by the new free-standing Portofino CPF9GP cooker and the high-performance SJF01 slow juicer from the 50s Style range, characterised by the exclusive SST™ slow squeeze technology (43 rpm) cold extraction system.

The new Portofino cooker is inspired by the hues of the famous Ligurian village of the same name, and combines the lightness and brightness of Mediterranean colours and the strength of stainless steel in perfect harmony, lending any kitchen a touch of character and professionalism.

SMEG 2For more than 65 years, Smeg has worked tirelessly to combine aesthetics and technology, creating appliances that offer both style and functionality, establishing the brand as a pinnacle of excellence on the international scene.
