Yohan Claerbout, a French designer, who created a completely different and unique product. Oak Stool, is where raw nature meets fine lacework.
The Oakstool is a raw solid oak stool, stencil printed with delicate lace or graphics, for an unexpected, somewhat jarring juxstaposition.
The series of objects is made of unique pieces. Says Claerbout, “I use the wood of the forest in the area of Annecy, France next to my office and paint it.” “OakStool is natural and artificial mixed together, brut nature melted with fine lacework, a reminder of this brutal human/nature union.” He added further.
