Northern lighting presents Circle

Northern Lighting - CircleNorthern Lighting introduces Circle, a small light with simple graphic lines from Hannakaisa Pekkala. Taking the circle as her starting point, the designer has used simple graphic lines to give the lamp its signature round shape.

She says, “I was able to save the feeling of the sketch in the final result. The thin metal form looks almost like it’s drawn into the air. The lamps look different from every angle, and make a changing composition.”

Currently completing her final year at the Institute of Design & Fine Arts in Lahti, Finland, Hannakaisa used graphic lines to break away from traditional chandeliers and make a contemporary statement.

Circle is a single light that can be installed on its own to create a focal point, or be combined with several others to create unique compositions. Though simple in style, each detail has been thoughtfully considered to create a thoroughly versatile and sculptural light.

The designer shares, “Inspiration for ‘Circle’ came from making something old in a new way. I had been thinking of a graphic and modern version of a statement lamp like a chandelier, which would fit in a modern interior.”

With its graphic shape and creative potential, Circle is as original as it is beautiful.
