The New CraftsmenAfter founding in 2012 with two pop-up shops and a retail website the new shop/gallery site for London-based, The New Craftsmen will open to the public on Friday 6 June at 34 North Row in Mayfair. In an effort to promote craft from the British Isles the company currently represents 75 UK-based makers working in textiles, silverware, furniture, ceramics, jewellery, glassware and beyond and is set to expand.

This new bespoke craft retailer was founded by Chairman of Gieves & Hawke and craft/luxury brand patron Mark Henderson, brand developer Catherine Lock, and Natalie Melton, who formally worked in Arts & Business. Brands represented by The New Craftsmen include Ptolemy Mann, Mourne Textiles and Jason Collingwood and the large shop space allows for quarterly rotating displays of work plus workshops held by the designers. It promises to be a interesting project to watch out for!
