Ambiente, the specialised trade fair for the global consumer goods industry, will take place in Frankfurt am Main from February 9 to 13, 2018. It will cover the entire range of consumer goods in relation to the dining room, kitchen, household goods, luxury goods as well as living, giving and interior decorating. 94% of exhibition space for Ambiente 2018 has been already occupied.
The Partner Country of the world’s leading consumer-goods fair in 2018 are the Netherlands. After Denmark, France, Japan, the USA, Italy and the United Kingdom, Netherlands is going to be the seventh partner country.
Detlef Braun, Member of the Board of Management of Messe Frankfurt GmbH, says, “I am very pleased that we were able to win the Netherlands as a partner country for the next Ambiente – a country which is known for its outstanding design and which is both minimalist and experimental while also being innovative and unconventional. And this is exactly what we aim to show the audience of visitors and exhibitors from all over the world at the next Ambiente.”
The presentation of the partner country will cover a wide range of products which are of an outstanding design quality. Curated and designed by the Amsterdam-based Dutch designer Robert Bronwasser, this year’s exhibition will be shown at Galleria 1. Bronwasser is an industrial designer who passionately merges creative skills, common sense and 25 years’ experience into useful designs with a one-off look.
Shortly after graduating with honours in 1992, he started his first industrial design agency. In 2002, he founded Smool, laying the foundation for his own studio. Twelve years later, he decided to rename his studio into Robert Bronwasser design to express his personal philosophy and signature. Today, he is an acclaimed designer, collaborating with innovative brands and major labels. Rewarded with numerous design prizes, both his commercial and non-commissioned work is on show regularly at international fairs and design exhibitions. His vision is clear: design needs to be smart, modest, iconic, logical and enjoyable – to put a daily smile on the users’ face.
In addition to the presentation, there will once again be the traditional theme day on the Monday of the fair. The Partner Country Day is being organised by Dutch exhibitors who will invite Ambiente visitors to a variety of events and presentations. The day will be rounded off in style by the Partner Country Reception, during which the next Ambiente Partner Country will be officially announced. Apart from the Partner Country programme, the coming Ambiente will once again be the venue for numerous trend and product presentations, awards ceremonies, promotional areas for young people and many other events.
