citb_logoThe Kbsa have announced a new sponsorship agreement with the CITB for a Kbsa Apprentice of the Year Award in their 2014 Awards – which now also includes a Customer Service Award as well as their established Designer Awards.

Graham Ball, CEO of the Kbsa, said ‘As the sponsoring Federation for the kbbNTG, this is a breakthrough moment for kbb markets, as training is key for a profitable future, and it is essential that, as an industry, we all promote training and apprenticeships whenever we can. It is our responsibility, as we all know just how crucial keeping up to date is.’

Diane Wood, Specialist Co-ordinator at the CITB, said ‘CITB’s sponsorship of the Kbsa Apprentice of the Year Award will assist the promotion of a specialist full framework apprenticeship to companies working in this sector. The apprentice kitchen installers follow a comprehensive training programme, which offers training in a variety of skills in the design, production and installation of kitchen furniture. The training covers the use of relevant tools and equipment from hand and power tools to a range of machinery and equipment. It will also involve planning, organising and preparing components and finally assembling the furniture ready for the installation. At CITB we develop accredited training for a large number of specialist trades that helps them to increase credibility and grow their business, as well as running an OFSTED Outstanding apprenticeship service.”

The new Award will be represented at the Kbsa Networking and Awards Dinner after their AGM and National meeting on 23rd September 2014 at The Welcombe Hotel in Stratford on Avon.
