john-lewis-logoJohn Lewis plans to open its third joint venture with Waitrose, which will see the department store open a new 45,000sq ft ‘at home’ shop in Horsham with an adjoining Waitrose supermarket.

The two-floor store, which could open as early as Autumn 2015, is part of an £11m investment in the West Sussex town’s new Westrock development. The ‘at home’ store will mostly sell furniture, furnishing accessories, homeware, and home and electrical technology, and create 125 new jobs. In addition, 50 jobs will be created at Waitrose on top of the 120 that are currently employed at the supermarket chain’s present location in Horsham town centre.

Development director of Westrock Robin Barton added: “We have been working for a number of years to ensure that the West End of Horsham enhances the town’s retail offer. We are delighted that John Lewis at home will open alongside the new Waitrose in the Westrock development. We know from the consultation that we have undertaken locally that this was exactly what residents of Horsham wanted.”
