BFM at JFS

BFM (British Furniture Manufacturers Association) moves to a new prominent position in Hall 1 in 2020 and are also sponsoring the Hall 1 aisle banners and are a main sponsor of the TFA’s (The Furniture Awards). Run by its members, for its members, for over 70 years BFM has represented the needs of the UK furniture industry – supplying information and support on material regulations, employment law and a host of other furniture related topics.

At January Furniture Show it will represent the 42 of its members who are exhibiting in 2020. Collectively these exhibitors have a combined turnover of nearly 800 million per annum and include some of the biggest names in UK furniture, including Duresta, Parker Knoll, Whitemeadow and ercol. Speaking of their attendance at JFS, Nick Garratt, BFM managing director, said: “We are delighted that BFM members will be out in force at JFS and we look forward to introducing new companies to the BFM, along with all the opportunities the event presents.”

Young Furniture Maker’s Feature

Keen to promote new talent and fresh ideas into the UK’s furniture industry, January Furniture Show will feature a display at the entrance to Hall 1 of award winning designs from the YFM (Young Furniture Makers) Awards, which were held in October this year. Organised by The Furniture Makers’ who have a stand in Hall 1, the awards focus on young designers studying for qualifications in furniture manufacture of all kinds. The feature at January Furniture Show will display a selection of the award winning designs which were chosen from over 100 designs of furniture and lighting entered for the YFM awards. Full of variety and clever use and re-use of materials the feature will be a testament to the virtuosity and resourcefulness of the young entrants. From their stand The Furniture Makers’ who are a City of London livery company and the charity for the UK’s furniture industry, will give information about their many functions including fund raising, education and industry support.
