Interior-UK-Decor-StyleINTERIORS UK is organised by UBM Live Built Environment AND is set to become The Furniture Show at May Design Series.    BFM member companies that are exhibiting at the NEC in January will be offered free standards at the May show in 2014 (only) to experience the event.   The BFM are also in negotiation with UBM on discounts for member companies from 2015.

The May Design Series 2014 will host close to 400 exhibitors right through from Furniture, Decor, Lighting [including Arc], Kitchens, Bathrooms and DX. The Furniture Show at May Design Series 2014 will welcome a selection of INTERIORS UK 2014 exhibitors.  It is intended that the full relocation of exhibitors will be completed ready for the 2015 edition of the show.  UBM believe that the new proposition will create the UK’s definitive international furnishings fair making a one-stop destination for new products, covering each interior space.

The change is in response to extensive customer research carried out by UBM revealing an overwhelming demand for a unifying large scale, international event attracting UK and international buyers and exhibitors. Te intention of this union is to give the UK interiors market an unrivalled platform for British companies to gain exposure to export markets at the right time of year, ready for retailers to procure in advance of the critical Autumn/Winter sales period.

Brand Director for INTERIORS UK, Suzie Ager commented: “Following detailed consultation with our customers we are evolving our proposition in order to best support this dynamic and vibrant industry, creating a prosperous future. By establishing a new format this signature event will provide manufacturers , suppliers and retailers – small and large, interiors designers and contract specifiers – a platform from which to grow their business now and for the future.”

The industry has expressed their support for the move. Jackie Bazeley, Managing Director of the British Furniture Manufacturers said: “The new format will provide a unique opportunity for the show to become the UK exhibition to attract overseas buyers.  This opportunity will also support any export activity being undertaken by companies within the industry.”

Andrew Mitchell, MD at Artistic Upholstery, who will be exhibiting at the 2014 edition, commented: “We are really excited to join the 2014 line up.  Finally, a definitive event based in the capital offering the chance for us to meet key UK and International buyers. It’s a much more commercially viable offering giving us the opportunity to develop and nurture key industry relationships for now and the long term.”
