The industry wants to stand united and together focus on a strong furniture fair in February 2023. Therefore, Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair chooses to cancel the planned fair in September. New dates are February 7-11. “We strive for a united and strong Scandinavian design industry and focus on a powerful comeback after a two-year absence,” says Hanna Nova Beatrice, Project Area Manager for Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair and Stockholm Design Week.

In February every year, the world’s eyes are focused on Stockholm and Scandinavia’s largest furniture fair, Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair. It is an established date in the international design calendar and for many it marks the start of the design year.

During the pandemic, most furniture and lighting fairs around the world have been forced to postpone or completely suspend their activities. This also applies to Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, which was forced to cancel its trade fair in February 2021 and postpone the trade fair in February 2022.

“We had to make a quick decision based on the world situation. The fair could not be held in February, but to offer our exhibitors and international visitors a new opportunity to move it to 6-9 September. The signals from the industry indicated that they were positive about this. With the results in hand, it has turned out that it divided the industry. The choice was between September 2022 and February 2023. At present, the most important thing is that we stand united and strong together. That is why we choose to cancel the fair in September and have full focus on February, ”says Chicie Lindgren, Business Area Manager, Stockholm Design Events
