hansgrohe_red_dot_2017The successful market launch of the new hansgrohe C71 kitchen sink combinations has been crowned with an exceptional reward at the world renowned Red Dot design competition.

Jan Heisterhagen, Vice President, Product Management at Hansgrohe, was very pleased to say: “A Red Dot: Best of the Best award is something very special for us. It is an important recognition of our performance in terms of product design and engineering. And it confirms our policy of focussing very closely on consumers and their everyday kitchen needs. By offering sinks with matching kitchen taps as functional and aesthetically coordinated units, we’re able to meet the needs of kitchen planners for practicality, ease of use and design in a single and harmonious ensemble.”

Only the best products in a given category receive the “Red Dot: Best of the Best” distinction. Of the more than 5,500 products submitted in 2017, only 103 products in 47 categories received the coveted seal of quality.

A clever combination for more convenience in the kitchen

The hansgrohe C71 kitchen sink combinations were created in collaboration with the acclaimed Phoenix Design Studio based in Stuttgart. They merge a premium stainless steel designer sink with a matching “Made by Hansgrohe” tap, an intuitive operating concept and sophisticated technical components into a single convenient unit. The sink’s wide rim provides a stage-like setting, showcasing the tap and the control unit, which has been moved to the front right-hand side of the sink for added convenience.

In the first model, the lever positioned on the front righthand side of the sink is the main control unit. Water temperature and volume can be precisely pre-selected by tilting and turning the lever. Once these settings have been selected, the tap can be turned on and off by pushing the Select button incorporated into the high spout.

In the other model, the Select button that turns the flow of water from the multi-jet kitchen tap on and off is on the right-hand side rim of the sink. Turning the button opens and closes the drain. Both models also offer users the option of controlling the flow of water with the back of their hand or their elbow, for example if their hands are dirty.

The hansgrohe hose box keeps the base cabinet tidy by storing the pull-out spray hose in a flat box. This protects the hose from being bumped into by drawers and waste bins, while ensuring smooth and quiet operation. The hose box allows for a longer pull-out spray, offering greater freedom of movement and a comfortable operating range around the sink.
