EMU - CrossFrom September 8 to 12, EMU exhibited at the MAISON&OBJET PARIS inside Hall 7 at booth A1. EMU presented its 2018 brand new collections which have been realised in cooperation with the most renowned international designers. Attention to details and commitment to develop eco-friendly production processes guarantee for the quality of the new products.

The new collections on display include:

CROSS by Rodolfo Dordoni

A re-edition of the series designed by Rodolfo Dordoni for EMU, Cross is a plastic design collection combining soft lines, formal rigor and a sophisticated mix of materials. The legs, characterized by an X-joint, are made of die-cast aluminum, connected to the seat by a four-way joint. Seat and back have a tubular steel structure, while the seat and backrest are characterized by the interlacing of polyester strings, a tribute to the craft tradition of the masters of Lake Trasimeno.

NEF by Patrick Norguet

Patrick Norguet has designed Nef for EMU, a new collection in aluminium entirely inspired by the pleasure of being outdoors. The tubular frame is combined with a seat in pressed sheet metal. The interwoven polyester cords, with a grid created using aisi316 stainless steel clips, lends a natural feeling of comfort and warmth: the structure has generous dimensions that both protect the person seated and allow them to see and hear. The grid uses an innovative fastening system. Nef is a diverse collection, both in terms of the type of materials used and the range of chairs in the series, including models for the dining room and lounge, with backrests at different heights.

EMU - Cool-laCOOL-LÀ by Chiaramonte/Marin Studio

The Cool-là rocking chair by Chiaramonte/Marin Studio is an unusual item of furniture that defies precise definition; an element with a strong visual and aesthetic impact, which evokes the concept of the nest, or cocoon. The tubular frame in hot-galvanised steel supports the seat in tubular and expanded metal. The sunshade is made of three-dimensional fabric, the same used for the cover of the padded cushion. The footrest is built of stainless steel. Thanks to the use of Dynema cords, the rocking motion of the seat is guaranteed to stand the test of time.

MODERN by Chiaramonte/Marin

Sinuous, soft, fluid lines opposed to the stiffness of steel: these are the main characteristics of Mored, a collection made of chair, armchair and stool. The structure is made of tubular while the metal sheets of seat and backrest has a thin and unusual texture.

REEF by Archirivolto Studio

Reef is the new chair by Archirivolto Studio, made from 100% recyclable aluminium. Inspired by the sailing maneuver that is carried out to reduce the surface of the sail in the case of very strong winds, the backrest structure evokes the ropes used to tie the sail, taking on this undulating form. The tubular structure is combined with a die-cast aluminium seat and a backrest in pressed sheet metal, also in aluminium.
