David Dalglish of Knaresborough Kitchens to Give Away Few Responsibilities

Published on : Saturday, June 28, 2014

David DalglishDavid Dalglish, founding Director of Knaresborough Kitchens, and current National Chair of the KBSA, will step back from day-to-day involvement with his business at the end of this year. This decision follows a strategic review which has seen an upgraded website & company promo video launched, display improvements at both the Knaresborough & York showrooms, and their showroom in Thirsk to be closed.

David and his wife Lynda will remain Directors, but both will step back into a supporting role working on strategy and business development. Family member & successor Matt Johnson will then run the business as Managing Director.

David has been an industry stalwart for almost 40 years, starting life with Moores in 1975, then Shires Bathrooms, and finally with The Bernstein Group for 10 years, prior to launching his own business in Knaresborough in 1996. He became a KBSA member in 2000, Regional Chair in 2011, before being elected National Chair in 2012.

David said ‘by standing back from the running of the business, I can devote more time to my role as National Chair of the KBSA, and I will be standing for re-election at our AGM in September. I no longer wish to be tied to a showroom every day, hence the decision to close our Thirsk premises in line with my step back. Running my own business has been a fascinating experience, and Lynda and I are looking forward to helping Matt continue to develop the Knaresborough Kitchens brand in the coming years.’
