Cotto d'Este - WOODLAND - TEAK TRAILAt the Salone del Mobile 2018, Cotto d’Este is launching the Woodland collection, a family of surfaces in ultra-thin porcelain stoneware inspired by wood and its precious different types with which the brand also increases the range of thicknesses available.

Cotto d’Este’s continuous aesthetic and technological research is the creative force behind this collection, a completely new product, both in terms of finishes and formats.

Aesthetic research

The Woodland concept started with a creative exploration to choose the finest types of wood. This time, the permanent search for beauty took Cotto d’Este to the furthest point around the globe, studying the grain, the knots, the colours and the nuances of the most precious types of wood. Woodland surfaces are the fruit of this creative journey, reproducing the characteristics of wood with high fidelity and exceptional three-dimensionality.

The new collection consists of three finishes: two dedicated to the world of oak – each one in three different shades – and one inspired by teak – available in two colours.

As regards this last one, Teak Trail captures the aesthetics of wood typical of Indochina: its surface, smooth and regular, conveys a sense of depth, give a sense of warmth and beauty to all environments, domestic or public.

Woodland will be on show for the first time at the Fuorisalone 2018, from April 16 to 22, inside the Milan showroom of Cotto d’Este in Via Quintino Sella 5.

Technological innovation

With Woodland, as well as aesthetic research, the brand takes a new important step from a technological point of view: the collection is available in the new version Kerlite plus 6.5 mm in dimensions 20×120 cm and in the new format of 30×240 cm, expanding even further the settings where the material can be used. The thickness of 6.5 plus completes the range of Cotto d’Este thin products, as an addition to the 5.5 mm and 3.5 mm versions.

The exclusive, large thin slabs in Kerlite by Cotto d’Este are a unique material, able to guarantee maximum quality and performance thanks to the use of precious raw materials. Additionally, the special pressing process enables the production of large, compact surfaces, combining flexibility and maximum strength.

Ideal for interiors and exteriors, the ceramic slabs can be used for both vertical and horizontal surfaces, giving – in this last case – an impeccable performance even in commercial environments exposed to heavy traffic. Like all the collections in Kerlite, thanks to the ultra-thin thickness, the 6.5 mm sheets can be used both for new buildings and for renovation work where they can be laid over existing floors.

The wide range of thicknesses, combined with the many formats (100×300 cm, 100×250 cm, 100×100 cm in thicknesses 3.5 and 5.5 mm and the new 120×260 cm and 120×120 cm in 6.5 mm) make this product a valuable tool in the hands of architects and designers, opening up new perspectives for design in the world of architecture and living.

The quality of the material is also linked to a strong commitment to environmental sustainability: less raw materials used, lower consumption of water and energy, lower CO2 emissions.

The new collection enriches the brand’s product range inspired by the world of natural surfaces. Details, colours, grains and typical appearance of wood are reproduced with high fidelity thanks to the innovative technologies used by Cotto d’Este, giving life to a high quality and high performance product.
