CEVISAMA announces dates for 2021 edition

The organising committee for Cevisama, the International fair for the ceramic tile, bathroom equipment and natural stone industries recently met at Feria Valencia and agreed to re-schedule the upcoming edition of the fair from May 24 to 28, 2021. The aim of postponing is to hold the event in a more stable environment that ensures exhibitors do business and fosters attendance by buyers and specifiers.

The fair’s organisers, Feria Valencia, consulted both clients and their trade associations and found that the majority felt that the industry does need Cevisama as a key sales platform and promotional tool, especially following a year in which all the major international trade fairs had to be cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic. The majority feeling also, however, was that given the way the health crisis has evolved over the last few months, it would be unwise to stage Cevisama on the dates the organisers had been working towards thus far, February 8 to 12, 2021.

As Cevisama president Manuel Rubert explains, “what we are going to do now is get to work on the May edition. We are confident that we will be able then to get back together with the entire value chain our industries represent – manufacturers, buyers, specifiers, suppliers and so on – to ensure that our exhibitors show their new products in a more conducive environment and gain the best possible outcome from exhibiting at the fair.”

Cevisama 2021 will be Europe’s first major event for the industry and the Valencia venue will showcase a comprehensive offering from manufacturers of ceramic tiles, bathroom equipment, frits, glazes and colours for ceramic tiles, raw materials, fixing materials and tools. Work is also underway on a new technology hall dedicated to showing the latest innovations and technology from the Spanish industry, which is based in the province of Castellón and is a global leader. The commercial showcase will also serve as a forum for learning and for sharing experiences, training and information. The aim is for the fair to continue growing and be an increasingly key event for the industry.

Feria Valencia has pioneered the development of a Safety Protocol that has made the venue a safe environment and is being implemented at all the events being held there. For Cevisama director Carmen Álvarez, “we are working to protect people’s health above all and on ensuring business success for our exhibitors. We owe it to them and we are grateful to them for the trust they place in our fair year after year. We are sure that Cevisama 2021 will be the grand reunion for the industry and that it will represent the best option for re-booting sales and for a strong return to market after such a challenging year.”
