The celebrated DesignersBlock returns to INTERIORS UK

Published on : Monday, December 16, 2013

Interior-UK-Decor-StyleINTERIORS UK, organised by UBM Live Built Environment is thrilled to welcome DesignersBlock to the show for a seventh year. Working in collaboration together, each year promises an individual take on the next big thing in the design world and this year is no different. A throng of talented designers will take over not one, but two separate areas of the show [hall 2 & hall 3].

20 young and brilliant top designers will showcase their latest inspired collections, offering an unrivalled display of best-in-class design outside of London. A fusion of home talent and genres, the show will welcome the likes of Kirigram, Laura Wellington, SKK and WalterWorks to name a few.
Kirigram promises a new collection for both indoors and out, taking inspiration from their signature elegant and organic designs. Made of metal and following a simple design principle: the creation of a three dimensional object from a flat plan, marking INTERIORS UK the place to congregate to find out more.
Laura Wellington vows to wow with her graceful lighting concepts, simple yet original she will be at home in the Lighting Show in hall 3, which this year, heralds a return to mark its 50th anniversary. Gathering too will be SKK Lighting who for many years has been renowned for producing innovative eccentric and original designs. This year they will be entertaining us with their varied range of fun neon lighting.
WalterWorks too will be joining the procession, known for their wearable design and art made entirely from household and industrial materials, frequently recycled from skips. This year we will be treated to the delights of the Terence and Orange lamp motivated by a passion for the form of rejected objects found in and around London.

Rory Dodd of DesignersBlock commented on this year’s edition: “As always, we are elated to join INTERIORS UK, the show is a great catalyst for new work to be commissioned and fresh relationships to be built.”

INTERIORS UK is the UKs definitive trade interiors event uniquely timed for retailers and interior designers to compare an array of inspiring interiors items from more than 500 exhibitors, including big brands, internationals and new design talent. Set to take over the NEC Birmingham this January, with Hall 3 housing The Lighting Show: the four day show is the place to come for the latest products and features, up-to-the-minute industry knowledge or invaluable trend insight, offering something for everyone.
