The furniture and accessories industry is shocked with the news of the sudden demise of the bed veteran Ken Hiller. Hillier passed away peacefully on March 14 at the RUH in Bath. Ken went from humble beginnings to become sales director of Airsprung Beds, where he played a significant part in the company’s success in the 80s and 90s.

To quote a former colleague: “I loved the way he always had an answer to every question and could talk about anything, which was very rarely about himself. He could mix and socialise with all age groups and he was funny. I think he could talk himself out of just about anything.”

Another says: “He loved people, he loved life and he was very proud of his family.” Due to the coronavirus situation, Ken’s graveside burial on 21st March in Corsham, Wiltshire will be private, but his family plans to hold an event to celebrate his life later this year.
