Contemporary porcelain makers 2016/ will present 16 new porcelain collections as part of a special project 2016/ Arita at this year’s Salone del Mobile from April 12 to 17.
This project has been in development for two years. It is a collaboration effort between creative directors Teruhiro Yanagihara and Scholten & Baijings. The 2016/ Arita project has bought together 16 designers to work at ten Arita potteries, developing over 300 new ceramic pieces.
This contemporary collection will first be exhibited in April in Milan, followed by an exhibition in the Rijksmuseum’s Asian Pavilion, together with other similar artworks from the Rijksmuseum collection.
