100% Design Celebrates 9 years of Association with New Designers

100_logo1 copyThe relationship between 100% Design and the largest graduate design show in the UK, New Designers, started back in 2006. The collaboration has unearthed some fantastic talent down the years, with one lucky student earning a space in the coveted Emerging Brands section at 100% Design. This year is no different as the two shows combine to champion a great depth of design talent that exists within the UK.

Alongside showcasing a plethora of student designs, New Designers host an exhibition for graduates who have taken that first step into the world of business. The One Year On exhibition showcases sixty of the brightest new names in the design world, bringing together products that are tipped to be the iconic designs of the future. The designers are chosen to take part on the strength of their entrepreneurial flair and the exceptional quality of their work.
Long time exhibitors of 100% Design, Plant & Moss, also were chosen to be part of One Year On, commenting:
“New Designers has served as a wonderful launch pad for me. At university New Designers was always the focal point to a successful start in the design world. James Moss and myself were individually invited back the following year, as part of One Year On, we took our ideas and turned them into a business and formed Plant & Moss.”

New Designers has worked with many curators over the years including the Crafts Council, Max Fraser, Thorsten van Elten and more recently Jethro Macey – Gemma Fabbri has been announced as this year’s curator.
