DutchDesignWeekDesign Studio Van Eijk & Van der Lubbe have completed the triptych “Experience in Motion” with the unveiling of the concluding section, ‘Outward-Looking’ during the Dutch Design week. The complete triptych will be on show in the Klokgebouw, Eindhoven from 17 to 25 October.

Following on from ‘Contact’ (about interaction between passengers) and ‘The Fun of Driving’ (about the driving experience), in ‘Outward-Looking’ attention shifts from the vehicle itself to the surroundings and how we experience these. For this third and last part, Van Eijk & Van der Lubbe have created a spatial conceptual car design that references architecture and the surroundings. In this work, the designers complete their investigation of the future of the car and the driving experience.

Volvo Cars Nederland asked designers Van Eijk and Van der Lubbe to look into the future. With the triptych “Experience in Motion”, they examine the implications and explore the possibilities of upcoming developments – both for cars and for the way we experience them. We see how the car will change the world of tomorrow and to what extent we will enjoy and value this world.
