On November 9, the Smeg UK team headed to London to attend the industries prestigious kitchen and bathroom Designer Awards. Held on the banks of the River Thames in London’s Embankment gardens, the theatrical setting of Supernova was the perfect place to celebrate all things beautifully designed.
In good company, Smeg was joined by top kitchen designers, furniture manufacturers, retailers and top brands for the 2016 awards. As the day got into the swing of things, we were on tenterhooks, waiting to hear if we’d won any of the prestigious red Corian ‘D’ trophies. The product category began and before we knew it, we had in our hands, another year running, a trophy from this great awards ceremony.
“We were the proud winners of the Innovation in Kitchen Design for our brand new Dolce Stil Novo Collection. The new high-end range is designed to be our most striking and contemporary range yet with the latest built-in technology. The clean lines and premium finishing take the design to the next level so it is really gratifying to receive such acknowledgement in front of our industry peers” Jill Ashford, Commercial Director at Smeg.
Jill also accepted the gold award on behalf of Smeg, which was given out by the day host, TV Presenter Gabby Logan. The award follows success at last year’s awards ceremony where Smeg was recognised for our outstanding contribution to the sector, winning the coveted ‘Design Classic’ award.
All-in-all it was a brilliant day and a great way to connect with people across the industry.
