Sleep opens in November at Business Design Centre

British Institute of Interior Design LogoBIID members are invited to visit Sleep, the hotel industry’s annual show for networking, design and technology innovations, and insightful debates. Sleep will be opening next week at London’s Business Design Centre, the event on 20-21 November.

Almost one third of the 130 global exhibitors will showcase their products and services for the first time at Sleep, with Assembly room, Decode, Punkt, Prooff, Shanko Rugs and Sonoro Audio debuting their creations in the Newcomers Gallery. In the Tech Hub, Boxbuild, in collaboration with Sky and Samsung, demonstrates how smartphone and tablet technologies are transforming the hotel experience.

Industry legends and those in the making divulge what’s on the horizon for hotel design at this year’s Conference.  Originator of numerous revolutionary hospitality concepts including “boutique” hotels, headliner Ian Schrager will be honoured with the Outstanding Contribution Award at the European Hotel Design Awards on the 19th November. On the 20th November he will share his keen instinct for popular culture and discuss the EDITION hotel in Fitzrovia with his first nightclub since Studio 54.

Find inspiration in other sessions such as the “Design Masterclass” from Alex Calderwood, co-founder of Ace hotels; and “Contemplative Design” which explores antidotes to the 21st century’s hectic pace.
