Rolf Benz has introduced TIRA, a elegant sofa designed by Joachim Nees, is a combination of filigree lightness with skillfully handcrafted upholstery details and the freedom to sit, lie or relax in perfect comfort, at any time. An innovative functional mechanism (for which a patent has been applied) makes it possible always to find a completely personal relaxing position on any element range.
Joachim Nees has recently designed the multiple award-winning functional furniture Rolf Benz NOVA, launched in 2014.
The elements that define the design of the Rolf Benz TIRA are the luxurious looking side parts on a filigree metal frame, graceful back shell, superbly comfortable upholstery in seat and backrest with elaborate decorative seams and soft loose backrest cushions.
The lavish upholstery of the new sofa creation ensures an ergonomically first-class sitting experience even in the basic position. Every model also has a relax function that can be activated by means of a lovingly crafted loop with wooden handle.
One can relax so wonderfully on the loose cushion lying on the back shell in this position. If the concerned person take the cushion away, he or she can stretch out in complete comfort on the whole surface of the seat – up to 180 cm long. They can be even more at ease, and experience the genuine comfort of the high back, thanks to an optional functional cushion that leans up against the back shell, and individually adjustable inclination.
From the aesthetic point of view, Rolf Benz TIRA cuts an extremely individual figure. When it is freestanding in a room, it looks very attractive when the whole of the black painted back shell is covered according to personal preference with the leathers and fabrics available in the Rolf Benz cover collection. Back cushions and the body of the furniture can also be personalized exactly how you like. One further option is the practical oak shelf which can be added between two seats if required.
