RAK Ceramics Wins Award for its SAP Application

RAK CeramicsThe high performance of RAK Ceramics’ SAP system has been honoured with a major industry accolade. The world’s largest ceramics factory scooped the Gold Award in the Large Enterprise category for its partnership with SAP Services MENA, which created a business transformation project for the company that has begun to deliver results.

 

RAK Ceramics received the award, which was given during a SAP Forum ceremony held on May 28 at Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre, for having demonstrated excellence in the planning and execution of SAP software activation in line with SAP’s quality principles. These principles are based on the effective management and delivery of implementations that are fast and offer enhanced value would improve ROI in the long run.

 

“It is extremely gratifying to win the Gold Award for SAP ERP System in RAK Ceramics and have to thank SAP management for playing a big role in the successful implementation across our facilities” said Abdallah Massaad, CEO, RAK Ceramics. “The SAP system is RAK Ceramics’ step forward for an integrated system leading to improved productivity, better operational efficiency and offering advanced solutions in terms of products and services to our clients in over 160 countries,” he added.

The SAP system was rolled out in across all the 12 manufacturing plants, 15 warehouses, 6 showrooms and administration offices in the UAE as part of 1st phase plan. The system is being supported by a new Data Centre that RAK Ceramics built utilising the latest state-of-the-art technology, with the company also ramping up its IT capability with new infrastructure to support business automation. The implementation of the SAP system was overseen by a steering committee and core team from the company’s headquarters, with phase two being facilitated by internationally-acclaimed audit firm, KPMG.
