Carl Hansen - Milan ShowroomCarl Hansen & Søn has strengthened its presence in Milan with a new and larger showroom in the historic neighborhood between the Sforza Castle (Castello Sforzesco) and the Brera district.

Occupying the entire ground floor of a beautifully renovated 1884 building, the showroom offers the best in classic furniture craftsmanship, with designs from Hans J. Wegner, Ole Wanscher, Poul Kjærholm, Kaare Klint and others. The opening coincides with rising interest in Danish design and high-class furniture craftsmanship, both in Italy and internationally.

The showroom is strategically located within the Foro Buonoparte circle, between the Sforza Castle (Castello Sforzesco), Cadorna Station, the Triennale Design Museum, and the Brera district, home to the Piccolo Teatro. The area also houses an increasing number of high-profile fashion and design businesses and showrooms, as well as many restaurants and recreational areas.

This classic part of the city offers views of the greenery in Parco Sempione and is known for its historical 19th century buildings: majestic and atmospheric constructions decorated with stucco and wrought iron and inspired by Italian Art Nouveau.

CEO Knud Erik Hansen says, “The Italians have a strong connection to historical traditions and classic style; at the same time, Italy is a renowned center for modern design. The Carl Hansen & Søn range is perfectly aligned with this duality, as our classic aesthetic matches many styles and interiors.”

The new showroom saw a grand opening at this year’s Salone del Mobile.
