New Member Appointed to the Board of The Australian Furniture Association (AFA)

Australian Furniture AssociationThe Australian Furniture Association (AFA) Chair, Ms Brooke Winter, has announced the appointment of Ms. Priyanka Rao to the AFA Board.

 

Ms Rao is Chief Executive Officer of The Luxmy Group of companies, encompassing Luxmy Furniture, Woodmark and Evolvex. A family run and independently owned Australian Company established in 1997, Luxmy Furniture is a contract commercial furniture manufacturing company based in Sydney.

 

Ms Rao fills a casual vacancy on the Board. Trained in architecture with an MBA under her belt and a strong background working in both Human Resources and Consumer Marketing, Ms Rao brings a breadth of knowledge that will make her an invaluable member of the AFA Board of Directors. She has been recognised in the Smart Company 30 under 30 List for two consecutive years and has also been featured in BRW as one of the top five entrepreneurs to watch.

 
Ms Winter said the appointment of Ms Rao reflected the structured and strategic approach to the expansion of the AFA Board. ‘Ms Rao’s appointment as Director adds value to the Board’s knowledge base and provides another dimension in relation to the Australian furniture design and manufacturing community as we continue to secure the ongoing and prosperous future of our industry’ said Ms Winter.

 

 
Ms Rao joins the existing members of the Australian Furniture Association Board including Chair, Ms Brooke Winter and Directors Mr Simon Bowler, Mr Joe Stillitano, Mr Josh Topelberg and Mr Peter Grey.
