Martin Bartlett has been appointed as the Managing Director by David Phillips Manchester. In this role, he will be responsible for the performance of both David Phillips in Manchester, and Peel Mount.
Martin joined the David Phillips Group in September 2013 when we merged with his business, Peel Mount. The merger has significantly grown our resources in Manchester, and our business in the North West now has annual revenues of approximately £6 million, with 50 people, 6 vans and 20,000 sq.ft. of warehouse space.
Martin will be responsible for growing both David Phillips and Peel Mount’s business and our teams will report to him. Andrew Clark will continue to have overall responsibility for Group Sales, and Nick Weetman, the Group’s new Operations Director, will be responsible for Group Operations. Andrew and Nick will therefore be working closely with Martin to best promote the development of our business in the North West.
In 2014, we will define ourselves through a concentration on 4 main industry sectors:
• Universities
• Social Housing
• Landlord & Agency, and
• Developers and the PRS.
In Manchester, we have great relationships across all 4 of these sectors – Peel Mount is one of the leading companies in the UK supplying the University and Social Housing markets, and since establishing a presence in Manchester in 2009 the David Phillips team has established a strong position in the Landlord & Agency sector and is the leading supplier to Developers in Manchester, with established relationships with the leading players in the region.
Thanks must go to the David Phillips team, led by Finn Walker and Ruth Chamberlain, who have done an excellent job leading David Phillips in Manchester over the last year. With a stronger local market in 2014, the team is aiming for a great performance this year.
