Morgan is delighted to have been awarded two Design Guild Marks for the latest Brompton and Pimlico original seating collections. This recent double award for 2014 brings the total number of Design Guild Marks to six for Morgan, since they were introduced by The Furniture Makers’ Company in 2008.
Created by Design Director, Katerina Zachariades, Brompton offers classic 5 star style and utilises Morgan’s expertise in fine upholstery and beautiful timber detailing. Finely tailored square upholstery with a fitted seat cushion is combined with an elegant profiled walnut frame. Brompton delivers a contemporary design that equally suits hotel and workplace projects.
The Pimlico compact lounge chair was designed by the Morgan Studio and features smooth curved lines with a unique inset oval seat pad which is wrapped by the frame. Fully upholstered for maximum comfort, Pimlico succeeds in offering a look which is both playful and youthful as well as being timeless and elegant. This makes it versatile for the bedroom, lounge or bar within a diverse range of interior schemes whether contemporary or classic.
Set-up to reward excellence in the design of volume furniture production, the Design Guild Marks are awarded by a distinguished panel of judges from the fieldsfurniture, hospitality, commercial, retail and media. There were a record number of entries this year which were assessed for excellence in design, the use of materials, manufacture and function.
