salone satelliteFocusing on young designers and architects, the collateral event SaloneSatellite will accompany the Salone del Mobile this year also. 700 designers, with over 37,000 visitors, and almost 3,000 square meters of exhibition space – these are the numbers for 2015 edition of SaloneSatellite.

The SaloneSatellite creates a big exhibition space displaying new prototypes for home and office, meeting point par excellence between talent scouts and the most promising designers. Its creation in 1998 was an act of trust towards the creative potential of under-35 talents. Since then, more than 10,000 designers and 270 international schools of design have taken part in it.

The 2016 edition of SaloneSatellite, curated by Marva Griffin, will once again look beyond with a theme spurring its participants to explore the relationship between science, materials and design: “New materials, new design” is the theme of the nineteenth edition of the event and, as every year, a Selection Board composed by internationally known design and communication players will shortlist 700 participants, including many international design schools.

The SaloneSatellite Award, getting to its seventh edition, will also continue, asking participants to present one or more projects related to the product sector of the biennial events occurring alongside the Salone del Mobile – in particular, the 2016 edition will involve EuroCucina and Salone Internazionale del Bagno. Hotbed of emerging creativity, incubator for the talents of tomorrow, place of discovery of new visions for future design: the SaloneSatellite is a step forward in the contact between demand and offer, entrepreneurs and designers, creativity and production. That is what makes the event unmissable.
