LAMINAM, a specialist in the production of large ceramic slabs with minimal thickness for architecture, interiors and furnishing, can boast several important international references and numerous significant projects in Italy. The coating of the SkyWay Montebianco interiors in Courmayeur, nearby Aosta, is one of the most recent architectural applications. Skyway is one of the fastest cable cars in the world, accompanying the visitor in the suggestive landscape of Mont Blanc with its three stations, each located at a different altitude.
Designed by Studio Progetti Cillara Rossi, the cable car is perfectly integrated in the surrounding environment: the “green” DNA of the structure, thanks to its high technological content and reduction of footprint and energy consumption, is indeed one of the project foundations.
The use of Laminam ceramic material is ideal in this framework: Laminam ceramic “sheet” is a natural material that’s 100% recyclable; it is the result of sustainable technologies and a cutting-edge production process that revolves around an exclusive compacting system for raw materials such as clays and feldspars selected with great care, in keeping with the eco-compatible approach that distinguishes the company.
Among a range of over 130 available surfaces, LAMINAM ceramic slabs sized 1000×3000 mm, thickness 3 mm, of the series Fokos, with finishing Sale and Rena were chosen for coating the walls of SkyWay Montebianco, for harmoniously integrating into the environment and landscape where the cable car is located.
Like a true architectural “skin”, the Laminam ceramic slabs, cut into modules, adapt to the sinuous and wrap-around curvilinear walls that distinguish the SkyWay Montebianco interiors, re-creating a total look with unprecedented and refined effects.
