John Lewis of Hungerford informs that it is continuing to trade ahead of volumes last year, with its dispatched sales and forward order book for the third quarter up 8.9% – standing at £6.3m – compared to the same period last year.
The kitchen, bathroom and furniture company said it expects its operating profits for the full year to be lower than last year due to investments in new showrooms, ‘as part of our three-year strategic plan to drive long-term value creation for shareholders’. A new showroom in Chiswick opened last month, while its showroom in Cobham is due to open in July.
However, John Lewis of Hungerford’s board added that it remained ‘confident about the outlook for the remainder of the year’.
