Harrison Spinks have named Michael Dingwall as the new manufacturing director. He is replacing Don Parkes who had been with the company for more than 12 years and was instrumental in growing the business. Michael will be operationally responsible for all of the Harrison Spinks’ bed division, covering mattress, divan and headboard manufacturing as well as HR, process control, work-study, maintenance and health and safety.
Michael comes to Harrison Spinks armed with more than 18 years of experience at Silentnight. He had joined the company’s graduate management programme as a trainee in 1997, and went on to work in every department within the company before specialising in manufacturing. In addition, he also chaired the furniture industry’s Trailblazer Group, which consists of representatives from numerous companies, training providers and industry bodies to re-write the apprenticeship standards for the sector.
Managing director of Harrison Spinks, Simon Spinks said, “Michael has a varied and extensive skill set that will be valuable in helping us to continue our mission to be the most vertically integrated bed manufacturer in the word. His experience gained at Silentnight will help to maintain our consistent high quality while bringing new, fresh ideas to our processes.”
